US citizens are NOT eligible for China's 30-day visa-free policy. However, they CAN use the 240-hour (10-day) transit visa-free program if passing through China to a third country.

📋 Requirements

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months
  • Confirmed onward ticket to a THIRD country (not back to the US)
  • Enter and exit through designated ports (60+ ports in 24 provinces)
  • Maximum 240 hours (10 days) — clock starts at 00:00 the day after entry
  • Must stay within the approved region
  • For longer stays or direct US↔China round trips: apply for an L tourist visa
